bubble, bubble toil and trouble

(Black tunic from Metropark, Free People velvet skirt, Free People eyelet cardigan, Dida lace up boots, Cynthia Rowley floppy hat, vintage lacey knee highs, my talisman from Forever 21.)

Nothing much to do today, just homework and field hockey. But inbetween that I got bored and put this together. Wearing this outfit makes me wonder where I put my broom. I've decided that this "talisman" has become a go-to piece lately. I've been wearing it with everything! I guess I decided to get dressed with my econ teacher's observation in mind. This Free People cardigan has also been a go-to since New Year's. I got it on my trip to the Free People store back in December and I've been wearing that with everything too! Its so comfortable and it looks good with EVERYTHING! I got the tunic at Metropark last spring and I've been trying to figure out how to wear it ever since. Its too long to wear with jeans, and too short to wear alone...so I just decided to layer it with a skirt.

Gasoline & Matches

I wore a lot of Forever 21 today. I made a trip to Barnes & Noble to get "Catcher in the Rye" for school on Monday. This floppy, wool hat hat a lot of stares at stop lights today. My economics teacher said the funniest things able this necklace the other day when I wore it to school. He goes "Alex, is that some kind of talisman? It looks like if it broke evil spirts would come out and eat us!" THAT made my day.

nothing but genuine

I sincerely wish that I could say that I took these today. But I can't because I took them on a scorching hot day back in June. I went out for sushi today with Oakley and while shivering my way to my car, I found myself reminiscing about this past summer and how much fun I had. A lot of stuff happened that has made me a much happier person. I grew a lot closer with some of my (now) best friends and I discovered my love for photography. I count the summer of 2010 as a very fond memory.

This shoot was actually one of my firsts. Lexii and I did this for her model portfolio with a series of three different looks; this was the "fun" one. I was looking through them when I got home today and all I could think of was how hot those tracks were! Lexii actually wanted to sit on the track (which she did) and she might have burned her butt had I not been quick about taking the picture. I've gotten a lot better at editing since the last time I looked at these photos so I decided to revamp them with some new editing. I think I finally got them just right.

That smile on Lex's face is nothing but genuine - I am almost certain that photo 3 is a candid. She's always fun to photograph and is always willing to go for it no matter how bizzare, uncomfortable, or "hot" (see photo 4) the job is. We always have a great time laughing during our shoots and we're always thinking about new concepts. I can't wait until summer when the fields are at the beautiful peaks!

i LOVE kylie

I had yet another snow day today and it ended up being the best one so far because I actually hung out with someone other than Cammy! Actually that's a lie I hung out with Lexii during a snow day last year. Kylie came over and we took some photographs. It was a pretty sucessful photo shoot other than the fact that we had to trudge through two feet of snow! She's wearing all of my clothes in these photos which I find awesome.

i could stab someone with this!

(Jacket & pendant from Forever 21, Free people top)

Took another trip to Burlington yesterday and spent A LOT of time in Forever 21, I didn't spend any time in Free People...weird, but then again I didn't have much money to spend. I got both the jacket and the necklace at Forever 21. I had been looking for a jacket like this for a while and as soon as I had laid eyes on it I knew that I had to have it! Its so warm and comfortable - I love it! My friend, Rae, actually ended up buying me the pendant as a "Christmas present." I picked it up off the counter and started looking at it, when she said that she would get for me as a Christmas present. I got her one like it too, but it had glittery rhinstones and stuff on it - not really "me." I spent the rest of the day saying "I could like stab someone with this!"

kings of the wild frontier

(Silk rober from Saver's, Echo Park t-shirt from Metropark, Bull Head denim leggings from PacSun, Jeffrey Campbell clogs, ring and pendant both from Forever 21)

I'm such a goof I told myself that all I was going to do this weekend was study, study, study; but that's when I realized that I going to have to take a break at some point. Yep, this is how I spent my breaktime. I got these clogs back in June, and I've been trying to figure out where to wear them ever since and a trip to Burlington tomorrow seems like the perfect opportunity. I never really thought to pair them with jeans until today...weird. I've been wearing these "denim leggings" for weeks - they're so comfy and they fit just right!

death by glitter

Forgive the glitter propaganda, but yesterday I went over to Lexii's during our snowday to finally how our long-awaited beach in the snow shoot (which will be uploaded tomorrow.) We came up with this concept in a very spur of the moment way. I had kind of been wanting to use this glitter to sprinkle on someone's face and I'd all ready tried doing it to myself (that worked out swell!...NAWT!) so I decided since I always carry my glitter jar in my little photoshoot baggy, "why not have Lexii do it?" Anyway its kind of funny that this last minute descison concept turned out even better than I thought. I am so pleased with how these came out! We took a bunch and I love them all! This is actually most of it, that's why there's so much.

glass tastes better

(Blazer from Saver's, Zara t-shirt, rings from Forever 21)

So TODAY I got up, brushed my teeth, did my makeup, got dressed for school, and then I go online to check to is MAYBE school got cancelled again. As luck would have it IT WAS! I did try to shovel yesterday and I was out there for like two hours trying to dig my car out so I'm pretty glad I don't have to worry... about leaving the house until tomorrow. As for the photograph for today, a couple days ago we had a discussion in Economics class and my teacher said "I can only drink soda out of either a glass battle or a can, I can't drink it out of a plastic bottle it just kills the taste!" So today I decided to drink a can of rootbeer (out of a plastic bottle) and then I decided to poor half of the bottle into a glass bottle that I kept from a trip to Italy with my mom and I drank both. Weirdly enough, the rootbeer in the glass bottle tasted so much better than the one in the plastic! Thank you Mr. Genest, I will be carrying around a spare glass bottle around with me for life.

snow day

Snow day today! It is too glorious for words and it couldn't come at a better time! I've been up to my forehead in work that was all due yesterday so having a snow day today was the perfect way to get some downtime. I know that you all know by now that "downtime" is code for obsessive photography the crap out of anything around me. So today it was the magnificent blizzard outside my window. I actually woke up this morning, opened my window, stuck my camera outside, and took pictures from my second-floor window! Then I decided that there were plenty of things to shoot on the ground too so I went outside. Let's just saw that my black, midlength UGGs had become white, thigh-high boots within a few minutes. I was beginning to get worried about Cammy getting too wet so I came inside; my lense was beginning to fog up anyway.

Also before braving the cold snowy day to get these photographs, I did I bit of much-needed video-editing. This video features Mikaela & Birgitta on a crisp fall day just after Thanksgiving. I love how long it takes me to edit my video projects. We also took a bunch of photographs which I have posted about before.

cosmic love

(Free People top, jacket, and skirt; elephant pendant from Micheals; cameo necklace from Claire's; rings gifted and from Forever 21.)

I didn't notice how decked out I was in Free People until just now. I just kind of grabbed whatever and threw it on and headed out the door with a jar of glitter and my camera. Hmmm I should do that more often. I really liked how these photographs turned out. You probably can't really see what I'm wearing but its a jacket I got at the Free People store in Burlington, and a top I got from there over the summer layered over a skirt that I ordered from their website. I've asking around seeing if any of my models were free today so that I could shoot them with the glitter but as it turns out no one was. On top of that it was snowing so...yeah I just went with using myself.

YAYAYAY!

I am very happy to announce that Kaylyn from Love & Labels has nominated me for her list of bloggers for the Stylish Blogger Awards. I am so excited I've never been nominated for anything before! YAY YAY YAY! So thank you very much Kaylyn for the nomination!

I guess I have to list seven cool things about myself...which are way less than seven...

1. I'm Swedish, Norwegian, Irish, and Chinese; I am very proud of my heritage and I try to embrace it every chance I get.
2. I've been dancing at the same dance studio since I was 3
3. I am a graduate of Barbizon Boston Modeling School
4. I am currently obsessed with Ke$ha - LOVE that bitch!
5. I'm a boot addict I have at least 10 pairs of boots that I wear regularily
6. My most prized possession is my Canon Powershot S5 IS; I love her some much I named her Cammy, which is short for "Cameron"
7. I have a list of photo shoot concepts that I started writing on a piece of graph paper when I got bored in math class. I keep it in my purse and whenever inspiration strikes I jot it down.

I don't read a lot of blogs but these are my 3 favorites

The photo is random I know. I took it with my new camcorder that I got for Xmas. Guess what his name is.

war zone

First off HAPPY NEW YEAR! I would have posted yesterday, but I was driving around running errands all day and when I finally got home I didn't feel much like blogging. I am really not looking forward to returning to school tomorrow. But to cheer myself up I began a photo project called the "365 Project" My new year's resolutlion for 2011 was to live in the moment and never let the good times slip away without a fight. I will be uploading photographs and writing a small diary entry everyday for the next 365 days. I am very excited about this project and I can't wait to look back on this a year from now and see what I've done in 2011. As for these pictures I took them this morning in the woods behind my house. I found the helmet hiding in my Dad's library just as we were heading outside so it was sort of a spur of the moment addition. You can see more in the War Zone set on my Facebook page.
