ciao!

So...I leave from Rome, Italy tomorrow night and I'm not going to lie I'm jumping up and down inside! This is just a random shot that I took of the things that I was packing before I shoved them in my suitcase. Among them are my new suede moccassins that I picked up at Saver's the other day. These will be my walking shoes for the majority of my trip. I will be traveling with Cammy in tow so I will be sure to have a lot of stuff to upload when I get back. I'm no good with goodbyes so I will leave you with this, cyberworld, CIAO BELLA!

lift your head to the air

Its been a few months since I've photographed Mikaela so when she and her Mom came over on Friday I decided to sneak in some candids. This was taken yesterday morning; I hadn't even gotten out of bed yet. She was just poking around in my room while I was snapping away. I know my posts have been pretty sporadic lately, but things have been pretty busy. I did make a trip to Saver's today and got some...interesting stuff so I'll try to make some time to document that before I leave for Rome on Friday!

throwing hail marys

(Free People lace slip, thrifted lace strip)

Its been forever since I last posted! Well actually its only been about a week, but I've been a busy girl for the past seven days! I always look forward to seeing Free People's catalogs every month. What gets me really excited about them thought is that they always have a video that they use for advertisment and its always so amazing how they do it! It always makes me want to get back into filmmaking. I got a camcorder and everything for Christmas. Its just the coloring outside isn't exactly ideal. It's all white and...white and I am dying for some color!

"flow"

I've always liked D&G, but never like this; I am completely in love with the "flow" of Dolce and Gabbana s/s 2011. I must have watched the show ten times in the last day! I just love to watch the floral maxis flow. I haven't felt this way about a collection since Chanel last spring; oh how I adored those platform clogs. The floral prints make me want spring to get here faster! Of course, yesterday was Groundhog Day and I guess the groundhog saw his shadow so that means an early spring? I think...I don't know much about the day but anyway! I am obsessed with this collection and I am planning on adding some floral print to my closet soon...I"ll just have to find more affordable options for myself.

the cold has killed us

(Free People lace dress, Forever 21 wool floppy hat, vintage belt, and Kelsi Dagger wedges)
(Small sign of life outside today, standing in a massive snow storm yesterday, and my Kelsi Dagger wedges post-snow storm)

I was sitting in my room today, stretching, wondering what I should do for my 365 today when I looked out the window to watch the snow fall. That's when I saw this, a few orange leaves still attached to the big maple tree outside my bedroom window. I thought it was odd that with all the snow storms we've had ...in Boston, these few colored leaves had managed to stay on the branch. I had been thinking of uploading another photo of the snow storm, but I decided that I was sick of all the white. I've been anxiously waiting for spring to bring some color into this snowy landscape and today it did.
Yesterday was a pretty good day; my Mom dismissed me from school at 9:30 due to a massive snow storm and I spent the rest of the day running around in the snow with Cammy in tow. You may be wondering what you're looking at in the second picture; well the answer is me standing in the middle of the storm (black suede wedges and all.) My Daggers were covered in snow by the time I came inside, I had to put them by the fire so that all the snow would melt. I kind of wish I'd gotten a shot of the Daggers right after I took them off, but whatever, chances are that I will get one eventually the way I run out during storms.

my gems

From Left: Black stone ring (and green) from Forever 21; orange flower ring gifted; owl face ring from Forever 21, silver swirl vintage ring, black studded ring from Forever 21; silver studd ring from 344; turquoise ring and rhineston ring both from Forever 21; earth stone ring and light blue both from Forever 21; silver and turquoise ring by Lucky Brand.

From Left: sea glass necklace from Forever 21; peace sign and feather by Lucky Brand; vintage serpent bolo tie; dagger from King Richard's Faire; Talisman from Forever 21; and Lucky Brand pendant.

As you may have noticed there is a lot of Forever 21 in my jewlery box; especially when it comes to buying rings. I think the most expensive piece of jewlery are probably the three pieces from Lucky Brand which I got at TJ Maxx for under $20. That just goes to show you how much I'm willing to spend on jewlery...well as much as my Mom will allow me to spend on it at least. I love jewlery I think it completes and adds character to an outfit. I like Forever 21's jewlery because you can get a lot of it at once because it's so affordable - and the way I wear it I need a lot. I PILE it all on! That's pretty much my entire philosophy for dressing in general...whatever it seems to be working out pretty well for me!
